Greetings, Covid protocols, Hike, new classes, charity drive, and gratitude…

Hellooooooo…

Greetings to you all!

Just a quick check in.

Our covid cases have plateaued .. so numbers are good … better than expected I believe. With this being the case, if we are not careful we might just let our guard down, but now is not the time to do this. I need to remind you all, should you be feeling in any way unwell … Please DO NOT come into the studio for your class. Rather Zoom from home, just to be safe. I appreciate your cooperation and understanding with regards to this.

Calling on all you Hikers… OR Wannabee hikers! Sunday April 25th, I would like to invite you to join me and your fellow Pilates enthusiasts on our beautiful mountain above Kalk Bay. The Echo Valley Hike starts on Boyes Drive and is a circular route which takes in the spectacular vistas of the Kalk Bay Harbour and False Bay – and wanders through the old spes bona – milkwood and yellow wood forests. This is a mountain – so the start of the Hike is UP… for a good 40 minutes or so – but we take it slowly and it is not a race… so come give it a try. On the day, we can decide if we want to go down the normal route, or via the Cave Peak route taking in the Boomslang Cave on the way – this route does require some scrambling, but is well worth it. Please let me know if you would like to join us! We will meet at 8am sharp at the Olympia Cafe parking lot – come earlier if you want to enjoy a yummy coffee. Please bring plenty of water – some snacks, tea/coffee and a head torch in case we do some caving.

Mish from Bellyphunk is back and Belly Dance classes are now on the schedule! We are chatting about introducing Beginners Belly Dance Class soon – I will keep you posted in case you are keen to give this a bash. Also – I have had a few enquiries for a new evening Beginners Pilates Class – and I will get that started in May… Watch This Space!

My good friend Patsy, has asked me to run a little ‘charity champaign’ to help a group in Montagu called Montagu cares. They are requesting that people donate Sanitary Products – sanitary towels – disposable or washable, tampons, menstrual cups – or similar. Many girls from poor/er households in the area miss many days of school every month during their periods – due not having the right products to help them through this time. I will put a letter from Montague Cares on the notice board – and a basket out to collect your donations, and appeal to each of you to please bring something with you this week to pop into the basket. Thanking you in advance for your care…

Don’t feel like cooking? Fancy a little stay at home treat? Look no further. Leigh, (a new Pilates Enthusiast) – former chef/owner of Mink and Trout restaurant in Bree Street, will send out a menu every Sunday – with his menu for the week – Order a day in advance and have your meal delivered the next day – see the link to FB – and just to say, my boys absolutely devoured his Short Rib Stew with Mash and roasted veg last week…

And Gratitude… Every day I am grateful for your wonderful enthusiasm (and occasional complaints ;)) in the Pilates Studio – Thanks to each and everyone of you for your continuous support.

Please – let this fire be extinguished soon… and please be safe everyone.

xx
