I have been actively and enthusiastically involved in the fitness industry for more than 25 years, and I love what I do and the amazing people I have the privilege of meeting through my work.
I believe that exercising should be fun and something that you look forward to doing! I like to think that I – and my fantastic trainers – keep our workouts interesting and varied – using all the various toys and tools at our disposal – like the balls, rollers, magic circles and bands.
When practiced regularly, Pilates improves flexibility, builds tremendous strength and develops control and endurance in the entire body. With focus on breath, Pilates will help to reduce stress and relieve tension, and will boost energy through deep and controlled stretching.
Emphasis is placed on the neutral or natural alignment of the spine throughout all of the exercises and stretches, so Pilates is great for anyone suffering from back pain – as awareness of our ‘ideal’ alignment slowly sinks in, better posture will help alleviate back discomfort. Improved range of movement for every joint in the body and improved co-ordination through repeated movement patterns, allows us to move more gracefully and efficiently and simply makes us look and feel amazing!
