Hey there folks.

I hope that you are all managing to stay warm over this chilly season, it has not been all that bad yet I suppose – Winter as they say is actually Cape Towns ‘best kept secret’. I’m sure there is some proper winter weather on the way, and before it gets here, why not join us on Pilates and Beyonds next hike? It’s the best way to stay warm.

WHEN? Sunday July 14th – meeting 830am sharp
WHERE? To be confirmed – Possibly Cape Point – always a gorgeous hike…
WHAT? Roughly a 3 hours round trip with some ups and downs, guaranteed great views, a tea stop, and lots of joy
HOW? Just putting one foot in front of the other
WHY? As mentioned above – JOY

If you are keen, please let me know and I will put you on ‘the list’ and you will be given more deets closer to the day. Weather checks will be made and we will decide on the venue according to the weather etc. Feel free to bring along friends or family – good dogs also welcome (but not at Cape Point).

As we wind our way into the 2nd half of the year, with GNU holding the reins and no load shedding in sight (), let’s enter this new quarter with hope and optimism… It’s always exciting living here in SA!

Why not spend these next chilly months revisiting, or maybe resetting your goals and fitness plans? How about giving HIIT Pilates a try? How about adding an extra class to your schedule for the next couple of months to help you reach those fitness goals? If you have any suggestions for a new time slot for a class – please let me know – there has been some chat about a 730 Wednesday morning early bird class?? Anyone? We could make it a HIIT class

Speaking of new classes – Starting on Tuesday July 16th at 16:45pm
ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS PILATES CLASS.
No previous Pilates experience necessary – this class goes back to the basics and is a very good place to start. I will send a flyer out that I hope you will share with your friends and family who you think could use a little Pilates Magic in their lives. ✨

In closing – I would like to say to all of you, WELL DONE! Congratulations on the hard work that you put in at each and every class – for actually getting to the studio on these dark chilly mornings, or after a long hard day at work. You are stronger and fitter for it – and it is definitely doing you a lot of good. I am attaching a link to a podcast, with my favorite Podcaster – Dr. Chatterjee. In this episode, Dr. Chatterjee chats with Dr. Gabrielle Lyon about the benefits of exercise and strength training, and how by focusing on, and prioritising our largest organ – our muscle – we can burn more fat, improve our body composition, decrease our risk of disease and increase our energy levels. For most of you, it will just be reassurance that your time is well spent at Pilates and Beyond – for some of you it might be a nudge to add a little something extra to your exercise regime, and for many of you, it might be a podcast you feel the need to share with a person who you think needs to get their butts off the couch!
